The National Council Against Smoking (NCAS) was founded in 1976 and has been instrumental in advocating for legislation to control tobacco use. NCAS has played an active role in tobacco control advocacy and policy development in the SADC region, African region, and globally.

In pursuit of this vision, the NCAS’s mission is to pursue evidence-based policy advocacy that embraces the whole-of-society and whole-of-government collaborative approach and, use innovative approaches and platforms to provide cessation support to those dependent on nicotine and disseminate relevant information to stakeholders in support of health promotion.
